Character Creation Rules and Format:

NOTE:
You may have up to TWO (2) CHARACTERS for this forum. If you would like to make another Character, please Register it on another account, and do the same thing that you did for your first.
This rule is subject to change for those who are more active--the more we see you around, the more privileges you'll find you'll have.



Rules are this:
-USE THE FORMAT!
-DO NOT COPY OFF OTHER PEOPLE'S CHARACTERS! You WILL be kicked off the forum, and your IP adress will be blocked.
----YOUR OC (original character, aka: a character you created from your own imagination,) MAY NOT BE AN AVATAR's PREVIOUS LIFE. ...otherwise everybody's doing it...and that's not fun.
--God help you if I see you've copy/pasted from a wiki of ANY sort.
-You must be approved before you start playing! This is LAW!
--Technology outside what is seen in the Avatar Universe is STRICTLY off limits.
---NO, you CAN NOT use characters from other series. That means no Hedgehogs, no Keyblade Masters, no One Winged Angels, and no Jedi....It's Avatar, guys. That's why we're called Legends of Avatar.
--YES YOU CAN HAVE SPIRIT CHARACTERS (like Koh the Face Stealer, etc.)
In fact, we encourage you to make some! We want people to be as creative as possible while staying in the Avatar Realm!
---We will not tolerate Gary or Mary Sues: Your character has to have some depth to them, and can't be perfect all the time. If I start seeing a bunch of people with the same backstories/personalities (etc.) , action will be taken.
--NO, you can NOT have your OC (original character) have a direct relationship with a Canon (Series) character. You can't marry Sokka. You can't be the long lost child of Roku--but then CAN influence your history in some way: (IE, you see Aang when you were a kid and get all inspired to be a hero or something.)


I wanted to show you the format for creating your character, if this is your first time. Now, the format goes something like this:

Race: ((Are they human? PLEASE don't use any half-demons, etc. It's unlikely we'll accept them.))

Appearance: ((what do they look like/ What are they wearing? If you have a picture, you can use it, but describing them works just as well. PLEASE BE DESCRIPTIVE.))

Affinities: ((Evil, Good, or Neutral? Chaotic, or Lawful?))

Elemental Mastery: ((NON-AVATAR characters are limited to TWO. You must pick an Element (Earth, Fire, etc.) and ONE SUB-CATEGORY (Earthbenders would have Metalbending, etc.) NON-Benders are only permitted to use the element of CHI. Please note that Spirit-Type characters of ANY sort CANNOT USE BENDING ABILITIES and CANNOT BECOME SUMMONERS.)) See the list of Elements here!

For CHARACTERS FROM THE SERIES, you must include as MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE from their pasts. What happened to them during their lifetime and how did it affect them? For ORIGINAL CHARACTERS, please type more than 3 paragraphs (That's 15 sentences) at the VERY LEAST. If you do NOT adhere to these rules, you will be asked to edit it until you get it right.

Lighter skin
Black or Brown hair
Amber, Gold, Brown, or Grey eyes
Men sport mustaches, sideburns, and beards--wear hair back
Women sport longer fingernails if nobility, wear hair back.
Both genders wear topknots, decorated with ranking fire emblem: the Firelord will always have five prongs. The members of his council have four. The members of nobility own three, middle class two, and normal citizens a single prong.
Clothing consists of reds, blacks, grays, pinks, whites, and darker browns.
Heavy Chinese Qin, Tang, and Han dynasty period influence.
Names typically have "Z" pronunciation, with heavy Chinese influence.

Earth Kingdom:

Darker skin: Nobles will have lighter tones.
Dark brown or black hair
Green, Brown, or Grey eyes
Men sport mustaches, long beards.
Women wear hair up elaborately, or down.
Clothing consists of greens, yellows, beiges, whites, and browns.

Air Nomads

Lighter skin tones
Dark brown, or black hair.
Blue, grey, brown, or green eyes.
Older men sport long mustaches and beards, heads are shaven fully.
Women shave only top part of head to show arrow.
Clothing consists of oranges, yellows, and browns.
Heavy influence from Shao Lin monks, and Tibetan monks.

Water Tribe:

Light brown skin tones
Light and Dark brown hair.
Blue, grey, or brown eyes.
Men sport "warrior's wolf tails" when they are younger, grown out longer after trials.
Women sport braids/plaits in various styles, as well as "hair loopies"
Clothing consists of light and dark blues, browns, whites, and purples.
Northern Water Tribe members wear darker blues than Southern.
Royalty typically wears more purple, and no brown.
Names typically have "K" in it, and "AH" in the pronunciation.

Republic City:

Steampunk, steampunk, steampunk! The Avatar world is on the brink of its Industrial Revolution!
Everybody from every nation lives here, so the possibilities are quite large here for just about anything.
In a gang? Think "Chinese Mafia."




We're not going to hound you if you don't have these details in here, but PLEASE be aware that each nation has its own demographics and styles as far as people go. It's going to be a rare time where there's a Fire Nation kid with blue eyes, or a Water Tribe girl with red hair. It doesn't mean you can have it, but please be aware of it.
