History: Firstborn to Firelord Azulon, Iroh was crown prince of the Fire Nation and older brother to Ozai. Iroh trained as a fire bender, eventually mastering the art under the tutelage of Ran and Shaw (dragons, the original fire benders), being able to bend fire without channeling anger. Iroh claims to have killed the last dragon himself(in fact he did not, he was merely claiming this to protect the dragons from anyone else that might seek them out). Acting on a vision he had in his earlier years Iroh laid siege to the great Earth Kingdom city of Ba Sing Se, becoming the only military commander to ever breach it's great outer wall, though at great cost. His son Lu Ten was killed on the front lines. This was a heavy blow to Iroh, who abandoned the campaign shortly thereafter and resigned from his post in the military, as well as giving up his right to the throne. Rather than returning home to the Fire Nation, he wandered the world, exploring the interactions between the 4 elements, as well as the spirit realm. On his return home Iroh took up a position as a military adviser to his younger brother, now the chosen successor to their father's throne. When young Prince Zuko was banished for challenging his father, Ozai, Iroh chose to go with him to watch over and mentor the boy. Iroh accompanied all over the world as the young prince tracked and attempted to capture the young Avatar, Aang, in what Zuko thought would be a way to restore his lost honor, and lift the exile. Through their travels, Iroh and Zuko became very close, with Iroh coming to look upon the boy as his own son. Zuko would not have become the man he did if it were not for Iroh's patient and gentle wisdom guiding and correcting him. After Avatar Aang's defeat of the power crazed Firelord Ozai, Iroh returned to and continued to run the Jasmine Dragon, a tea shop he and Zuko opened in Ba Sing Se.
